Private Pilot Ground School Class


  • Must be 17 years of age
  • Must be able to read, write, speak & understand the English Language
  • Pass a Knowledge Test
  • Medical Examination – 3rd Class Physical
  • Airplane Single Engine Rating:

Must log at least 40 hours of flight time that includes:

  • 20 hours of flight training (dual)
  • 3 hours of dual cross-country training
  • 1 cross-country flight of over 100 nautical miles distance (night)
  • 10 take-offs and landings at night in the traffic pattern at an airport
  • 3 hours of instrument training
  • 3 hours of prep time before check-ride
    AND 10 hours of solo time that includes:
  • 5 hours of solo cross country
  • 1 solo cross-country flight of at least 150 nautical miles total distance with a full stop landing at a minimum of three points
  • 3 takeoffs and landings at an airport with an operating control tower
